HUMAN EVOLUTION OLDEN DAYS (STONE AGE) MAN TO MODERN HUMANS

Human evolution from stone age man to present modern day man, culture diversities wise, weapons, mind and physical development also portrayed in pics. Every being is an end in itself though there is continuity. Man is no exception in the life processes of nature. But in between there is considerable content of everybody and that makes special interest from one to the other. Man has piled up increased knowledge in course of his living in time and space. Man and his works signify ‘lot of content’ as he is at ‘cross roads’ on the life platform today.

Man In Evolutionary Scheme

Man keeps apart from the rest of animal kingdom by his socio-cultural living, man made environments i.e., forest, land, sea, in terms of habitats and extended settling in terms of villages, towns, and cities, by his ability in creating culture, ability to learn language, education and following religious paths of reaching the God, i.e., divinity. All these could happen only as a result of his mind activation and through evolutionary modification from quadrupedal (four legged) to bipedal (two legged) and by freeing the fore limbs and attaining erect posture.

Man-Mind-Culture-Technology

This has allowed him to make technology of various kinds possible. He was identified first as stone age man, i.e., stone tool maker, then developing further stone, bone and wood technologies, thereby, transforming to neolithic cultures, These are followed by hunting, gathering, fishing, and agricultural technologies. Today it is apt to put him as ‘computer man’(information technology) and ‘missile man’ (nuclear weapon technology). and taking further to nano technologies with his mind power.

Man And Opposable Thumb : Advantage over other animals

No one would agree with me if as an anthropologist I say that all these technologies of man could be possible only through biological modifications that have taken place in the evolutionary line, such as erect posture and use of opposability of thumb, i.e. you cannot hold anything or make anything with your four fingers at one plane and without opposable thumb.

Species Of Man And Surviving Species

The journey of man traces the ancestry of humans to one common ancestor and is an eye opener to the existing prevalent cultural notions of biological superiority. We all belong to one genus and one species, called as, Home sapiens. ‘Sapien’ means the man with wisdom! There were of course four species in Genus Homo, namely, Homo habilis, Homo erectus. Homo neanderthalensis and Homo sapiens. Since the last one, Homo sapiens, being the most evolved over others, the other three species died out in course of time.

Geo-Environmental Expressions

It is only sheer ignorance, myth and misnomer that even cultures of societies have hierarchical places and are superior or inferior one to the other. As a matter of fact, the color and structure of our bodies are strongly associated with the environment we live in. we are geographically separated and thereby we differ in our languages, religion, (faith, belief and religion). There is no reason to feel higher or lower; superior or inferior. It is all the way we look at things, matters, peoples, and their cultures. But the fact is we are one, we have a common culture called human culture and that has led to human civilization.

Culture And Its Diversities : Olden days Man Stone Age to modern

The differences in cultures of human societies and their pace at human civilization matters for us to tell about their developmental stage. Some may be still primitive, like, cholanaickans habitating Nilambur forests of Kerala state in India; Onge, Andamanese, Jarawas and Shompens of Andaman Islands. Some are still restrict themselves to forests like these tribes; some are modern and others are still more modern and smart. The living modes of them have direct bearing to their type of habitats, i.e. eco-systems. Being “Primitive” or “modern” describe the quality of life they are experiencing with their cultural heritage and technologies.
